Who:
It is a duet. All you have to bring is a nude body. I
will provide the camera and the eye with which to explore.

What:
If everything falls together
we will make beautiful
photographic music together. I will be making images with the purpose of furthering my
art.
Where:
We will discuss this during the
pre-session dialog. It depends on the project at hand. It is likely you will come to my
studio, but a location session is possible.

Pre-session Preparation:
First:
The best place to start is for you to look at my web site.
Second:
We will communicate by Email about what your concerns and needs are.
Third:
If you wish, we could meet in person over coffee, so you can view
some actual prints and we can discuss the details of the session.
Fourth:
We agree to terms of compensation. (see Compensation below)
Fifth:
We set a date and time for the session.
Before the session:
Do not wear any restrictive clothing (bra, tight pants,
bondage paraphernalia etc.) within an hour of the photo session. The reason for this is so
that there are no clothing lines pressed into your skin. Wear sweat pants or loose
fitting dress so that we dont have to wait for the lines to go away.
Make up is not needed since we will not be including your
face. My work typically maintains the anonymity of the model. I understand concerns about
anonymity. Of course this is a concern with many people, but as you can see with my
work... the face is avoided. It is not very likely that anyone would recognize your pieces
and parts... unless they are already familiar with them... up close and personal. I will
avoid your face or place it in shadow.
If there are outfits that you want to do
some partial nudity in, bring those. If there is something you want to be photographed
with, bring that (representing a hobby, or interest of some kind).

Feel free to bring some of your favorite music CDs
if you want. This usually helps you relax and enjoy the session more.
Upon arrival:
When we meet for the session I will show you the studio
and we will chat briefly before starting. We will review our agreement for compensation so
there is no misunderstanding.
The final bit of business before the actual session is to
have you sign a model release. The entire point of the session is to further my portfolio
and there is no reason to have a session if I can not use the photographs to such end.
Signing the model release simply states that I am the owner of the photographs we are
about to take. The model is reminded they do not have to do anything they feel
uncomfortable with. Your personal information is private and confidential and will not be
shared with anyone.
During the Session:

Plan to be naked for several hours.
It is true
being naked is much easier than getting
naked. The transition from clothed to nude is what offers the awkward moment. For some
people the act of undressing in front of another person tugs at every nightmarish notion
they have ever had. For others it is no big deal, since they will be nude in a few moments
anyway. It is up to you, you can disrobe in private and drape yourself in a bathrobe or
just appear nude. What ever makes you most comfortable.
You may feel a bit self-conscious at first... but it will
go away after a few minutes... dont worry about it... I will not ask you to do
anything you dont feel comfortable doing.

Once we get started, you may do what ever you need to do
to get comfortable being nude. Before we start photographing, we may chat a bit, or I may
have you sit or turn or move around or what ever to find a starting point. You can do what
ever relaxes you... stretches (dancers like this), breathing, singing... whatever.

Keep in mind that I may spend considerable time studying
your body before and during the actual photographing of it.

We will move around and try various different positions until I find something that I
want to photograph. We will take breaks, as you need them. I will work to find a position
that you are comfortable in so that I may take my time to explore and find the line or
shadow or texture that I am looking for. This feels a bit strange at first because I will
be with in touching range... but I will not be touching you.
The session works best when it is a free exchange of
ideas between the photographer and the model. If a position makes you feel uncomfortable
then say so and we will move on. I may make suggestions during the session and you may
feel free to do so as well.
Generally I like to talk to the model while we are
shooting. However, at some point I may stop making sense
this means my mind is busy
considering lighting, exposure, and composition.
After the session:
At some unknown point in time the session will be over. I
will reach a breaking point and call an end to the festivities.
Compensation:
People model nude for a lot of different reasons. Vanity,
insecurity, confidence, curiosity, adventure, boredom, validation and love of art can be a
catalyst for disrobing for the camera. People that I utilize as models are there because
they really want to be there. They are not modeling for me to pay for college. People
model for me because they are interested in my work and want to be part of it in some way.
Your main compensation for modeling will be the satisfaction of having done it. I will
also offer a few prints to you free of charge. Then if you want more, we can work out the
details of the cost of additional prints. These details will be discussed before the
session. I do all film processing and printing, by hand, in my darkroom.
