...Too much chatter...
For me, photography is a way of sharing my existence... To remind myself and to
educate others to the details of my journey. Every thing we do is documentation of our
experience. Memories, scars, trinkets and photographs tell the tale.
In order to communicate well, a document must appear familiar, alluring, erotic or
inquisitive. A photograph is such a document. Everyone is a documentary photographer,
whether they use a camera or not. I use a camera...
Mission Statement:
To be an Environmental Exploratory Portraitist.
I've always fondled a lust for light. Photos don't lie, but photographers can be
vicious lying bastards. It is my intention not to merely record the environments
that I participate in, but to explore them.
On the other side of boredom is discovery.
In my people photography, I wish to borrow forever, a slice of time that can never be
repeated. To document the environment that IS that person, at that time. To allow the
subject to react to their immediate environment in a manner conducive to portrayal of
themselves. More than a head shot against a plain background... An interaction between
subject and scenario. To include in this visual statement a checklist of passions and
importance's, so that years from now the subject can look at the photo and have
remembrance of that period of time.
"That was me then, those are the things I cared about, and this is how I have
changed".
Not every photograph is that successful, and the success can only be measured against
the backdrop of passing time .
Nudes are an extension of the exploratory portrait. Beyond the recognition of flesh is
documentation of the human journey. Shape, texture and form fall into a more sublime
telling of the subjects environment. This is an intimate portrait of the subjects personal
landscape.
If faces can tell a short story, bodies are novels.
