Equal Rights for Shadows! Back in the darkroom days, I made an oversized negative holder to expand the black area around the printed image. This used to be a sort of badge of honor for getting a great composition IN CAMERA. You proved that you had not manipulated the crop while printing in the darkroom, by including the film around the image area.
